The building design has been carefully considered drawing upon the scale, mass and materiality of existing context in the area as well as responding to the emerging character from similar developments coming forward on adjacent plots. The materials proposed are of a high quality and long lasting contemporary architectural detailing, with window proportions and brick detailing creating visual rhythm and interest across the facades.
The proposal includes a car free development and cycle parking in excess of current standards, promoting a sustainable lifestyle suitable for town centre living.
Located to the South of Luton Town Centre on Cumberland Street, this development will see the creation of 207 new high-quality dwellings, providing a mixture of 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments.
The design proposal will provide a formal built frontage to corner of Cumberland Street, improving the street scape and creating a landmark building acting as a visual gateway to Luton Town Centre. The double height concierge with chamfered surround creates a welcoming entrance located in the centre of the plan.
